Andre Jacquart Champagne, Rose De Saignee NV Extra Brut

Another sensational Champagne from one of our very favourite producers, Andre Jacquart. This is their rosé non-vintage (i.e. a blend of different years), made from 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. The "saignee" process is quite particular; while most Champagnes are made a small portion of still red wine blended in, here the juice is mostly comprised of red grapes that are allowed to macerate on their skins for a short time, giving the wine colour. This is full of lovely strawberry and cherry fruit, delightfully fresh, but still serious with depth of flavour.

Pairing: a great looking bottle that will work brilliantly at parties.
