Description
This is from Wine Club regular Montesanco's premium "Mon" range. An elegant white wine that is a pure expression of the Macabeo grape. Known for its use in Cava, Macabeo can shine on its own as a fresh and intriguing variety when handled correctly. These vines are 50+ years old, increasing concentration. During winemaking a delicate touch of new oak and battonage is employed for complexity. Organic and vegan.

Aromas & flavours
There's an intense bouquet of freshness here, lots of citrus and floral notes with a backbone of steely minerality. Alongside the citrus fruits we also pick up other, more exotic fruits that we can't quite put our finger on. The acidity makes the wine dance on the tongue, and there's good body (from the oak and battonage) that gives it presence on the palate.

Food pairing
We believe this is a food wine, but it can be enjoyed as a thirst-quenching beverage on a hot day with a bowl of crisps. Fattier fishes, chicken with cream sauce, or seafood rice dishes all work well.
